  Time zone or time zone - a part of the Earth's surface (land and sea) where the same time applies. Geographically, time zones divide the land into 24 equal bands, where the time in adjacent bands differs by 1 hour. However, the real boundaries of time zones differ from geographical ones because they are caused by borders between states, states, or administrative territories.  
  Time zones are defined in relation to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The starting point for the time zones is the initial meridian (0 ° east longitude) passing through the Royal Greenwich Observatory in London. As a result, GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is still used instead of the universally accepted UTC notation.  
  Lithuanian time is a term that describes the average solar time in Lithuania. Lithuania is included in the Eastern European Time Zone (EET).  
  Lithuanian time is related to world coordination time UTC + 2 (GMT + 2).  
  Although geographically one-fifth of Lithuania (western part) falls into the UTC + 1 time zone (CET - Central European Time), the rest into the UTC + 2 (Eastern European) time zone (this boundary crosses the Lithuanian territory between Jurbarkas and Taurage in the south and Telšiai and Kuršėnai in the north), but officially one time is valid in Lithuania - the whole of Lithuania is included in the UTC + 2 zone.  
  Daylight saving time in Lithuania is UTC + 3 (GMT + 3).
